Babysitter Mixers

Come join members of the LOMC and local babysitters at an informal mixer. This is a valuable event for moms and babysitters. Members are invited to bring a babysitter and meet and mingle with several potential new babysitters. This is a great way to expand your babysitter reserve for those much needed date nights or time away.

Farmers’ Market

During Farmers’ Market season the LOMC runs the craft table at this event for one day. The Lake Oswego Farmer’s Market is located at beautiful Millenium Park overlooking the Lake and is filled with crafts, food, music, and produce. We have the craft table open during the entire Farmer’s Market event which runs from 8:30 am until 1:30 pm. Members and the public are encouraged to stop by, enjoy a fun craft with their kids and learn more about the activities our group offers.

 Halloween

Each Halloween, the LOMC pairs with a retirement home in the community to have a trick-or-treating event. This is a fun event that participants look forward to each year. It’s a great way to allow the children to trick-or-treat in a safe (and dry!) environment, and bring some joy and festivity to the retirement community members.

Giving Tree Program

Every holiday seaon we collect donations at various businesses throughout Lake Oswego to fill the specific needs of Clackamas Women’s Services.  The CWS is a non-profit organization. Their mission is to foster self-empowerment of women and children so they can establish lives free of domestic and sexual violence. To learn more about the Clackamas Women’s Services, please visit http://www.cwsor.org.

How can you help?
It’s easy! Simply select a tag off a tree at one of the Giving Tree locations. After purchasing the item, just return it (unwrapped) to the Giving Tree box or bin.

The LOMC will be updating this page with more detail on our donation sites and times as we get closer to the 2015 holiday season.

 Valentine’s Day

The LOMC also likes to share some love in February with the retirement community. There are multiple opportunities to take part in this event. Children make Valentines at the monthly Lakeshore Learning craft event, and then near Valentine’s Day we deliver the Valentines to members of a local retirement community.

 4th of July Parade

Each year we participate in the Star Spangled Parade on the Fourth of July! All members are welcome to join this Lake Oswego tradition. We hand out treats and smiles to the children in the crowd. Children, partners, wagons, strollers, all in festive 4th of July gear and decor stroll down A Avenue in the spectacular parade led by a Lake Oswego Fire Engine. The Parade includes an authentic Fife & Drum Band, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, classic cars, and of course, the Lake Oswego Mother’s Club!
